«umbrail» is AMZ's third electric race car and its first vehicle equipped with a full aerodynamic package consisting of a front and rear wing as well as an undertray.

The chassis is based on a highly torsional stiff monocoque made of CFRP (Prepreg) with a boot lid, the suspension's wishbones are also made out of CFRP, with the spring system designed as pull rods in the front and as push rods in the back. umbrail is the second AMZ car standing on wheels using 10 inch rims and with only 170 kg one of our lightest cars.

Two self-developed and self-built AMZ M2 electric motors form the heart of umbrail, providing a total power of 80 kW (107 hp). The rear wheels can be driven separately, which gives the opportunity to make the car even more agile using torque vectoring.

umbrail's energy supply is realized in form of a one-piece U-shaped accumulator containment which is equipped with lithium polymer cells. The containment is fastened to the bottom of the monocoque.

Winning 18 awards in total over one Formula Student season, umbrail is one of the most successful race cars in the history of AMZ.
